Sama Yoyo’s soulful, eclectic sound is a result of yearsspent listening to and practicing piano pieces, and crying over music history notes that recorded the date and time that a composer went deaf.   It is the result of years spent in a quiet room strumming a guitar that is yet to be christened with a name and the privilege of being called friend.    From the years spent in church bands, and cover bands, and a “Battle of the Bands” band, and doing that one televised music competition that comes into conversation ever so often, Sama Yoyo has settled for a nomadic life, between Cape Town and Joburg, where she is busy writing and serenading South Africa one gig at a time.
